Data Portability

Data portability is the ability to move data between different systems, applications, or organizations while maintaining its usability and integrity. It is essential for data flexibility and interoperability. Data portability is also extremely useful for complying with data rights and legislations.

Data portability enables data to be transferred from one system or platform to another, while maintaining the integrity of the data and keeping it usable. An example of this would be transferring your phone contacts from an iPhone to an Android phone. While the operating systems are different, the information used by both systems (contact name, contract phone number, etc) is the same. It allows users to control and transfer their own data without needing to involve outside companies or sources.

Data portability allows organizations to be more flexible, as it allows them to switch operating technologies or systems more efficiently. Data portability also makes it easier for different systems within an organization to work together.
