Careers > Data Engineer
About
SENEN has spent more than a decade helping leaders and global brands turn data and AI into a real strategic advantage. We partner with clients to move AI out of slide decks and into everyday decisions. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and culture.
Through practical advisory work, hands on implementation, and culture change support, we help clients design and execute human first transformations. The goal is always the same. We focus on measurable impact and sustainable growth, not hype.
We are looking for a full time Data Engineer who cares about building clean, reliable data foundations. Our clients rely on us to support analytics, AI, and decision making at the executive level. Your work will sit at the center of that.
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys solving messy data problems, designing clear data models, and building systems that people can trust and use.
Roles
As SENEN’s Data Engineer, you will design and build the data pipelines that power our client work. You will help move data from many different sources into modern data platforms. You will clean it, structure it, and make it ready for analytics and AI use cases.
You will work across ingestion, transformation, and modeling. You will help shape data architectures in cloud environments and support projects that range from dashboards to advanced forecasting and optimization.
You will also contribute to technical design decisions. You will collaborate with strategy consultants, solution architects, and data scientists. Together, you will turn business questions into clear technical requirements and data solutions.
From early discovery to deployment, you will bring order and structure to complex data environments. You will own your work and stay close to the teams that depend on it.
This is a highly collaborative role. You will work closely with Engagement Leads, Solutions Architects, and the Data Science team.
Requirements
- You have at least three years of experience as a Data Engineer. Experience in consulting, B2B, or enterprise environments is a plus.
- You have strong SQL skills and solid experience with a programming language used in data work. Python experience is preferred. Scala or Java experience is a plus.
- You have experience building ETL or ELT pipelines in cloud data platforms. Examples include Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse.
- You understand core data modeling concepts. You are comfortable with star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and normalized versus denormalized structures.
- You have used tools for orchestration and transformation. Examples include Airflow, dbt, Prefect, or Dagster.
- You are familiar with modern data architectures such as data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse patterns.
- You have experience pulling data from different enterprise systems. This may include APIs, flat files, event streams, ERP, CRM, POS, or e commerce platforms.
- You care about reliability and data quality. You are comfortable working with logging, monitoring, alerting, and data quality checks.
- You have worked with version control and basic software practices. You are familiar with Git workflows, code review, and testing.
- You can listen to a business stakeholder, ask good questions, and turn their needs into clear technical requirements and data models.
- You are detail oriented and comfortable owning your work from design through deployment and ongoing support.
- You communicate clearly and follow through on commitments. You collaborate well with both technical and non technical teammates.
- You handle feedback well. You like to improve your own skills and help improve the team’s approach over time.
- You have experience supporting analytics, BI, or data science teams. For example, you may have supported dashboards, reporting, feature stores, or ML pipelines.
- You have an interest in AI, decision intelligence, or business transformation work.
