Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)

Imagine Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as the realization of science fiction dreams — a machine that can converse fluently, perform intricate problem-solving, and even exhibit emotional intelligence on the same level as humans.

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a broad spectrum of tasks, much like a human being.

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to highly autonomous systems or machines that possess the cognitive abilities and understanding to perform any intellectual task that a human being can do.

Types of AGI Research

  • Symbolic: holds the belief that symbolic thought is the core of human intelligence.
  • Emergentist: the idea that the human brain is a set of neurons that self organize.
  • Hybrid: sees the brain as a hybrid system where different parts work together.
  • Universalist: centered around the mathematical idea that AGI in the theoretical realm can be used to manufacture it in reality.

AGI, unlike its AI counterparts, isn’t confined to a single domain. It possesses the capacity to transfer knowledge and skills from one task to another, exhibiting creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability on par with human intelligence.
