Comma-Separated Values File (CSV)

A comma-separated values file (commonly known as a CSV file) is a delimited text file format where information is separated by commas. This file format is common in spreadsheet applications, with the most popular one being Microsoft Excel.

While CSV files can serve accounting, financial, or other business purposes, they are also extremely important in the world of data. CSV files are widely used for data exchanges, data importing and exporting, and analysis of simple data. They are also used to transfer data between incompatible systems. CSV files also have the benefit of being easy to read and understand, which can be useful when dealing with data that would otherwise be difficult to understand.
