Streaming data is a continuous flow of data generated by various sources that is collected and processed in real-time. Examples of sources that my generate streaming data include websites, apps, social media platforms, or internal event systems.
Streaming data is constantly generated and delivered without any breaks or pauses. It is often pulled from multiple sources at once, meaning it involves large amounts of data. The large amounts of data simultaneously being pulled and processed means that a flexible, scalable system is required to handle streaming data. Streaming data often consists of events, like clicks, views, or transactions that need to be analyzed as they happen. The goal with streaming data is to minimize the delay between data generation and processing. This would mean that the generated data is quickly being analyzed and the analysis is being put into use quickly.
